The crew behind the Hardcore Underground CD series has released some clips of some upcoming tracks by hardcore producer Darwin some of which are featured on the new hardcore underground 2 CD due for release mid 2007. The DJ line for hardcore underground 2 will be slightly different than the first one and the complete line up is being keep a secret for now, but it seems quite obvious that Darwin is one of the DJ's. Interesting look at the current hardcore times has All around the world this week pimping Darren Styles with his single "Save me" splashed all over their website in every possible angle. It has been 10 years since hardcore artists received this type of exposure, some fans criticizing, others congratulating Darren's success.
Either the case may be, hardcore artists certainly haven't been given front page advertising on major record label websites and who would have guessed just 5 years ago where hardcore music is today.
Update: We actually didn't notice but today the official commercial release date for the track "Save me".

Gammer has released information, audio and artwork on his upcoming label project called Muffin Music with its first release in a few weeks!
The label as we are told will be concentrating on more of Gammer's solo works as well as collaborations with other producers. Gammer has reassured everyone that he is still working alongside Dougal and Essential Platinum and that Muffin Music is just going to be a project on the side for Gammer.

Online retailers over the weekend poped up a new title on their release schedule called "The world's greatest hardcore album". The 3 disc album is set to be released on 26th March 2007 from Resist (makers of Bonkers). The album is a new series from Resist (eg. the world's greatest (insert genre)) as released just the other month, "The worlds's great trance".

Scott Brown of Evolution Records has released information about a DVD movie and mix album concept with Nocturnal Media of the UK. Details on the album are limited but Scott has reported that they have already filmed in Amsterdam last weekend (at the event Scumworld) and will be filming at the following events in the UK
Friday 6th April - Twisted & Brainfire, Glasgow (uk style)
Saturday 7th April - Tranzmission, London (uk style & hard)
Sunday 8th April - B2S, Rotterdam (old school)
The move will have public and dj interviews, background on Scott's life and the general mayhem I have to go through to make gigs every weekend. Plus lot of stuff on there that you'll never normally get to see from a DJ's point of view. There will be lots brand new music featured on the DVD and accompanying CD mix album.
Release dates are not set yet but will be available from all usual outlets. We'll keep you updated. |
